Battle Against Germs B.A.G.
The Battle Against Germs also known as B.A.G. is a school- and district-wide effort to reduce the spread of a variety of germs that can make us sick. ALL students and adults are asked to follow good hygiene practices. Washing hands and covering coughs are critical in reducing the spread of germs. Good hygiene behaviors should be practiced in school, at home and everywhere you go.
Mrs. Sherkey, our school nurse, has had discussions and/or lessons on hand washing, coughing, and sneezing with all of the classes in our school. She has also given the students tips on “How do I know if I am really sick”. In addition, there are posters hung around the building reminding students of the tips given by Mrs. Sherkey.
If your child is sick it is important to keep him/her at home to minimize the spread of germs. Students who have issues with vomiting, fever and/or diareaha should stay home until they have been 24 hours free of the symptom.
Upon the return to school, write a note explaining your child’s circumstances and the days missed will be excused.
